PURPOSE: An adaptive beamforming gain control apparatus in a radio communications system and a method for the same are provided to perform efficient beamforming. CONSTITUTION: A control unit (1130) determines to adjust a beamforming gain. The control unit adjusts the beamforming gain by changing a beam width. A communications unit (1110) transmits or receives a signal according to an adjusted beamforming gain. The control unit determines a beam direction for communications with a counter node before adjusting the beamforming gain. The control unit receives a message directing beamforming gain adjustment from the counter mode in order to determine to adjust the beamforming gain.
