Towing a rig such as a trailer or caravan can be difficult. In particular it can be very difficult to manoeuvre such items into place, such as for parking. On vehicle fronts because there is no structure strong enough to attach towing or hitch points manufacturers attach tow points to a side rail end. A standard towing eye bolt 2 is fitted to the side rail, a bracket with a towing eye clamp 4 is clamped to the eye bolt and a tow bar plate 3 is connected to a tow bar 1 through a slot 7 so that it is rotatable about the bracket. The trailer is then pushed from the front of the vehicle. |
