<p>According to a first aspect of the present invention there is provided a method of operating a distributed database comprising a plurality of database nodes. The method comprises, at a first database node of the plurality of database nodes, receiving a request to manipulate data from a client (B1), determining if the data is stored or is intended to be stored at the first database node and, if the data is not stored or is not intended to be stored at the first database node, forwarding the request towards a second database node of the plurality of database nodes (B2) and, prior to receiving a final response from the second database node, sending an early response to the client indicating that the data manipulation has been successful (B3).</p> |
