FIELD: agriculture.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agricultural machinery industry and can be used in harvesting of corn. The snapping unit comprises a pair of counter-rotating grooved rolls and snapping plates mounted over them attached to the frame. The plates along the length of the snapping area have a curved surface that imitates the base of the corncob. Over the snapping plates the feeding chains with claws are located.EFFECT: design of the snapping unit enables to increase the area of contact of the corncob base with the snapping plates and minimize the injury of corncob base, which improves the quality of snapping the corncobs.
