An apparatus for heating mold powder and a supplying method thereof are provided to facilitate separation of gas from molten steel and inclusion by reducing the size of a hook structure of a meniscus part as heated mold powder soft-cools the side within a mold. An apparatus(50) for heating mold powder comprises: a cover(51) covering molten steel(1) and the top of a mold(20) in which mold powder(3) is accepted; and a near infrared ray generating part(52) irradiating near infrared ray on the mold powder. A tundish(10) is arranged on the top of the mold to supply the molten steel to the mold in order to cast the molten steel passing through a molten steel processing continuously. The cover or the near infrared ray generating unit comprises a height control unit from the mold powder. In the cover, a reflecting surface is built in the mold side. The near infrared ray generating unit is a halogen lamp. The wavelength of the near-infrared radiation area is produced in the near infrared ray generating unit through a controller(53) separately prepared in outside. |
