PURPOSE: A coupon providing device based on situation information and a method thereof are provided to supply a coupon optimized for a situation or a purpose to a user by determining the coupon according to the situation information. CONSTITUTION: An information providing unit(210) of a coupon providing device(110) receives situation information of a user from a coupon receiving device installed in a mobile terminal. A coupon determining unit(220) determines a provision target coupon by using the situation information. The situation information is at least one of a coupon use area, use time, a use purpose, and weather information. A coupon transmitting unit(230) transmits the determined coupon to the coupon receiving device.
