PURPOSE: An electric vehicle and a driving method thereof are provided to prevent electric shock accidents while charging a battery by completely insulating the connection between the battery and an inverter. CONSTITUTION: A battery(100) supplies a DC power supply charged by a non-insulation charging device(50). A DC link capacitor(200) stores and smoothes the DC power supply and provides the DC power supply to an inverter. A control unit(500) outputs a control signal which controls a current flowing between the battery and the DC link capacitor. A switch unit is located between the battery and the DC link capacitor. An insulation power supply unit(180) supplies the DC power supply to the DC link capacitor according to the control signal.
