PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide non-halogen flame-retardant electric wires and cables excellent in flame retardant properties, mechanical strength and elongation without using red phosphorus and a halogen-based flame retardant.SOLUTION: An insulator layer 2 cladding a conductor 1 and/or a cable sheath 4 cladding an insulated electric wire 11 is formed by using a non-halogen flame-retardant resin composition formed by mixing 100-250 pts.wt. of a silanized magnesium hydroxide together with 100 pts.wt. of a polymer comprising 50-80 pts.wt. of an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, 10-30 pts.wt. of polypropylene, and 10-20 pts.wt. of an ethylene-propylene copolymer denatured with a maleic acid or ethylene-butene copolymer denatured with a maleic acid, wherein boundary faces of the ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer and the polypropylene with the silanized magnesium hydroxide are in close contact. |
