PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce variation in discharged capacity among batteries which is caused by difference in the number of temperature sensing elements or consumption currents at different locations for installation or the like.SOLUTION: A battery monitoring unit 100 for controlling a battery pack 300 comprises: a voltage detection sections 1 and 2 for detecting voltage of each cell B; discharging circuits 11 and 21 arranged corresponding to each cell B; a control section 3 for controlling charge and discharge of each cell B by operating or stopping the discharging circuits 11 and 21 on the basis of the voltage detected by the voltage detection sections 1 and 2; a plurality of temperature measuring circuits 13 and 23 for measuring temperatures of the cell B on the basis of outputs of the temperature sensing elements; calculation means for calculating consumption currents of the temperature measuring circuits 13 and 23; and adjustment means for adjusting discharged capacity of each cell B so as to equalize the consumption currents if the calculated consumption currents of the temperature detection circuits 13 and 23 are different.
