PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a peak luminance level control technique with which flickering and motion picture blurring can be reduced even when varying a light-emitting period over a wide range.SOLUTION: According to a display panel driving method for controlling a total light-emitting period length for a pixel to emit light within one field period, regarding the pixel, N (N is N≥) light-emitting periods are arranged within one field period, and a period length from timing to start the first light-emitting period to timing to end the N-th light-emitting period is 25% or more and 75% or less in one field period length. A light-emitting period length in a specific light-emitting period is longer than a light-emitting period length of each of other light-emitting periods. Each of light-emitting periods is controlled in such a manner that, in the case of N=2, the specific light-emitting period is arranged in the second light-emitting period and in the case of N≥3, the specific light-emitting period is arranged in either the second or the (N-1)th light-emitting period. |
