PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a phosphor, in which productivity and safety are made higher.SOLUTION: A method for producing a phosphor comprises a step for firing a raw material of the phosphor under a nitrogen-containing atmosphere. A charge composition of the raw material of the phosphor is shown by formula [1]: (A, Z)DENO. A compound containing two or more elements other than nitrogen and oxygen among elements of the formula [1] is used to be fired at ≤1,500°C.
