PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To support update so as to reflect contents described in a trouble report on a discrete model.SOLUTION: A proposition graphic display 192 (not shown in the figure) is prepared in which texts of a trouble report 191 are sectioned into propositions which are connected by arrows to be expressed in a flow chart, and then a summarized proposition graphic display 193 (not shown in the figure) is prepared in which the propositions described in the proposition graphic display 192 (not shown in the figure) are summarized as an expression made to correspond to a continuous casting model 16. An update support device 10 of the continuous casting model acquires the summarized proposition graphic display 193 (not shown in the figure), and prepares a state transition diagram 194 (not shown in the figure) expressing state transition in a trouble using only states defined in the continuous casting model 16 on the basis of the summarized proposition graphic display 193 (not shown in the figure). Then, information is supplemented from the continuous casting model 16 to the state diagram 104 (not shown in the figure) to prepare a supplemented state diagram 195 (not shown in the figure).
