PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid jetting device capable of detecting an end position of a medium without erroneously detecting a projecting part present in a detection target region of an optical sensor as the medium, and to provide a medium end position detecting method of the liquid jetting device.SOLUTION: A carriage is moved so as to cross paper in a width direction (S1), and it is determined whether or not an output voltage Vo of a paper width sensor provided at the carriage has crossed a first threshold value VS1 (S5). When the output voltage Vo has crossed the first threshold value VS1, the end of the paper is detected. In addition, it is determined whether or not the output voltage Vo has crossed a second threshold value VS2. When the output voltage has crossed the threshold value, its position is used as an end detection position Xd (S7). Then, the end detection position Xd is corrected by a correction volume dx to obtain an end position Xe (S8). The first threshold value VS1 is set to a value which enables paper to be detected and disables paper supporting ribs (projecting parts) to be detected. |
