PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coordinate input system of a surface type touch panel in which precision of a computed coordinate is maintained as high as possible while detecting a touch of a fast tap.SOLUTION: A total value of current flowing to a detection electrode is monitored continuously. When the total value of current becomes larger than a first threshold or becomes larger than a second threshold smaller than the first threshold and does not become larger than the first threshold but becomes smaller just by a predetermined magnitude, it is discriminated that a touch panel is touched. In the state where the touch is discriminated, if the total value of current greater than the first threshold becomes smaller than the first threshold or the total value of current that does not become larger than the first threshold becomes smaller than the second threshold, it is discriminated that the touch panel is not touched any more. |
