PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device, even when having a structure directly heating a fixing belt, capable of substantially uniformizing a separation gap between a separation member and the fixing belt.SOLUTION: In a leading end 28a of a separating member 28, a gap forming surface 28c forming a separation gap g between itself and a surface S of a fixing belt 21 includes: a receding portion 28c1; and a protruding portion 28c2 protruding to a surface side of a fixing belt 21 with respect to the receding portion 28c1 in the thickness direction of the leading end 28a of the separating member 28 such that the thickness of the gap forming surface 28c is differentiated in the axial direction. The protruding portion 28c2 is disposed on both sides in the axial direction of the receding portion 28c1. This configuration can reduce variation in the separation gap g between the separating member 28 and the fixing belt 21 or uniformize the separation gap g.
