PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide steel for a forming die which has high thermal conductivity and excellent mirror polishability and also has excellent weatherability, toughness, and machinability.SOLUTION: Steel for a forming die has composition including, in mass%, 0.040<C<0.100, 0.03<Si<0.27, 0.30<Mn<1.80, 0.30<Cu<0.61, and 4.00<Cr<9.00, and further including at least one of 0.04<Mo<1.00 and 0.02<V<0.50, with the balance of Fe and inevitable impurities. |
