PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sizing agent capable of providing a carbon fiber-reinforced composite material that has superior tensile strength at 0° and contains carbon fibers having convergence properties imparted thereto; a carbon fiber bundle having the sizing agent deposited thereon; and a method for producing the carbon fiber bundle.SOLUTION: The sizing agent contains a monofunctional epoxy compound represented by the following formula (I). (In the formula, R represents an alkyl group, a phenyl group or an alkylphenyl group.) The carbon fiber bundle having the sizing agent deposited thereon and the method for producing the same are also disclosed.
