PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste toner storage system which is capable of making a full detection part detect fullness with waste toner without error.SOLUTION: An enclosure 48 of a waste toner storage vessel 36 is formed of a waste toner storage part 49 and a full detection object part 51. The full detection object part 51 has a bottom surface 51a higher than a bottom surface 49a of the waste toner storage part 49, is provided adjacently to the waste toner storage part 49, has an upper opening 52 communicating with the waste toner storage part 49 in the highest part 53a of an adjacent wall 53 of the waste toner storage part 49, and is made of a transparent material. An external optical transmission sensor 55 for detecting fullness has a light emitting part 55a and a light receiving part 55b arranged with the full detection object part 51 therebetween. When the waste toner storage part 49 is filled up and waste toner overflows toward the full detection object part 51, the fullness is detected by the optical transmission sensor 55. Erroneous detection does not occur because of the existence of the adjacent wall 53 even in the case of maldistribution of waste toner shown by 50b in the waste toner storage vessel 36. |
