PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damping valve capable of reliably performing adjustment of damping force and fail safe process.SOLUTION: A damping valve V1 includes a valve element 1 installed on the way of a passage P to give resistance to a fluid passing through, a solenoid S to give a propulsive force to a valving element 2 of the valve element 1 in a direction of limiting a passage area, and a resilient piece 3 to give the valving element 2 a propulsive force in a direction of maximizing the passage area, wherein on the way of passage P, a fail valve 4 is installed in series to the valve element 1, wherein the fail valve 4 has an opening position to open the passage P and a fail position to decrease the passage area, and when a supplied current to the solenoid S decreases to a prescribed value or less, the fail position is taken. |
