PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic apparatus, e.g., an image forming apparatus the function of which can be limited by detecting unjust remodeling of a memory device storing a control program.SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes ROM 202 for storing a control program 212, a setting storage unit 204 for storing the setting values corresponding to the setting items about the functions of the image forming apparatus, and a CPU for determining whether or not the setting values in the setting storage unit 204 fall within the allowable range of setting items corresponding to the setting values. The ROM 202 further stores the information for specifying the allowable range, and the information 222 for specifying a unit relevant to the setting items. The CPU determines that the image forming apparatus is not remodeled in response to a determination that the setting values do not fall within the allowable range, and does not supply power to the unit. Consequently, safety is ensured, and deterioration of convenience can be prevented by ensuring minimum operation of the apparatus while avoiding damage thereon. |
