PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inverted microscope able to prevent impact during tilt operation and having satisfactory operability.SOLUTION: The inverted microscope comprises: support means for supporting a transmission illumination support post such that this support post is rotatable; and pressing means that is brought into contact with the transmission illumination support post below the rotation center shaft of the transmission illumination support post and applies different forces in accordance with the inclination of the transmission illumination support post. The pressing means has a brake member that contacts the transmission illumination support post and applies frictional force between the transmission illumination support post and the brake member, and an elastic member that biases the brake member. |
