PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chemically strengthened glass that uses soda lime glass and still has excellent cuttability and greater residual compressive stress than in the past, and to provide a method for producing the chemically strengthened glass.SOLUTION: A glass product is used for producing a chemically strengthened glass, and the glass before ion exchange includes, by mass%, SiO: 65 to 75%, NaO + KO: 5 to 20%, CaO: 2 to 15%, MgO: 0 to 10%, and AlO: 0 to 5%. The surface compressive stress after ion exchange is 600 to 900 MPa and the depth of a compressive stress layer formed in the glass surface is 5 to 20 μm. The compressive stress layer of the glass surface is formed by adjusting the ratio of the content of alkali metal ions B to the total of the content of alkali metal ions A and the content of the alkali metal ions B of the glass product, used for producing the chemically strengthened glass containing the alkali metal ions A and the alkali metal ions B. |
