PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective coating for an acrylic window material used for a passenger window of an aircraft, the protective coating maintaining optical quality and reducing crazing of the window in use.SOLUTION: There is provided a duplex coating having a soft coating layer and a hard coating layer on an acrylic substrate, wherein the soft coating has an adhesive polysiloxane coating and the hard coating has a plasma CVD-based coating including silicon.
