PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intravascular guide wire for assisting to arrange an intravascular device, e.g., in a neurovascular space.SOLUTION: A guide wire to be used in medical procedures includes a thin and long guide member having a dimension for the insertion into the body vessel of a subject to be tested. The guide member specifies the longitudinal axis k, and includes a rear end segment 16 and a front end segment 18. The front end segment has a cross sectional dimension which is decreased to the cross sectional dimension of the rear end segment. The front end segment includes: a first core element 36 including a first material; and a second core element 38 which includes a second material being different from the first material, and is located in front of the first core element. The first material of the first core element has a rigidity which is larger than the rigidity of the second material of the second core element. Therefore, the advancing of the front end segment and the imparting of a torque to the front end segment are made easier while making the deformation of the front end segment minimum. |
