PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image generating apparatus having a plurality of driving mechanism, for continuously moving an image object and an image pickup device by the driving mechanism to generate an entire image of the image object by synthesizing small images obtained by picking up images for several times, thus shortening the time required for synthesizing the small images.SOLUTION: An image generating apparatus includes: a driving mechanism for driving at least one of an image pickup device and a holding member to move the position thereof; driving control means for driving the driving mechanism so as to put the image pickup device and the holding member in prescribed positions for each small image picking up; acquisition means for acquiring a post-drive positional information by measuring or estimating at least one of the pickup device position and the holding member position after driven by the driving mechanism; correction means for correcting the deformation of the small images resulting from the deviation between a target image picking up position and an actual image picking up position according to the post-drive positional information; and generating means for generating an entire image of a subject by combining the corrected small images. |
