PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protection treatment method for a vehicle coating surface in which a homogeneous cured protective film is obtained in a short time and which eliminates the need for a special protective film curing step after completion of an entire surface treatment.SOLUTION: There is provided a protection treatment method for forming a cured protective film on a vehicle coating surface using a moisture-curable silicone-based protecting agent consisting essentially of a silicone alkoxy oligomer and having a hydrolysis rate adjusted with a hydrolysis catalyst. The silicone-based protecting agent is prepared by diluting the silicone alkoxy oligomer of 22-200 mm/s in kinetic viscosity (25°C) with a mixed solvent consisting principally of a water-miscible solvent and including an added low-water-soluble polar solvent. Then the cured protective film is formed through a section coating step of coating the vehicle coating surface with the silicone-based protecting agent while further diluting with supplementary water and spreading the silicone-based protecting agent. |
