PURPOSE: A semiconductor light emitting device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to easily arrange electrodes by forming electrical paths in a supporting substrate. CONSTITUTION: A first semiconductor layer has a first conductivity. A second semiconductor layer has a second conductivity. An active layer (40) is formed between the first semiconductor layer and the second semiconductor layer. A supporting substrate (101) includes a first electrical path and a second electrical path.
