<p>This travel planning device has a route detector for detecting a route to a destination, a travel load calculator for calculating the travel load information of the route, and a travel plan calculator for calculating a travel plan on the basis of the route and the travel load information of the route. When the distance to the destination is less than a threshold distance, the travel plan calculator plans a drive mode on the basis of the travel load information of outward and return routes between the destination and a reference position detected by the route detector, and when the distance to the destination is equal to or greater than the threshold distance, the travel plan calculator plans a drive mode on the basis of travel load information of an outward route to the destination from a reference position detected by the route detector. A travel plan allowing improvement in terms of fuel consumption can thereby be created.</p> |
