The invention relates to a lock for a motor vehicle, comprising an actuating element (2) that is adjustable around an actuating element axis (1) and a drive mechanism (3) for adjusting the actuating element (2). The drive mechanism (3) is provided with a rotor (4) formed by the actuating element (2), having a permanent magnet arrangement (5) and a stator (6) having a coil arrangement (7) of at least two coils (8-1 1), wherein the drive mechanism (3) is configured in the manner of a direct drive. According to the invention, the stator (6) has at least two poles (12-15) across which a magnetic field generated by the coil arrangement (7) is guided, that at least one pole (12-15) of the stator (6) extends to the rotor (4) except for a gap (16), the cross-section of which gap is essentially ring-segment shaped, and that the poles (12-15) of the stator (6) are magnetically coupled by way of a guide arrangement (17) rotating about the rotor (4) with respect to the actuating element axis (1). |
