A water-disintegrable composite fiber which comprises a phase (A) comprising a polyglycolic acid resin and a phase (B) that comprises a resin having a mass loss of 25% or more through 7-day immersion in 80ºC pure water and having a glass transition temperature (Tg) of 25ºC or higher, the two phases each extending continuously in the lengthwise direction, and which has a peripheral surface in which the region constituted of the phase (A), which comprises a polyglycolic acid resin, accounts for 50% or less in terms of areal proportion and a cross-section in which the region constituted of the phase (A), which comprises a polyglycolic acid resin, accounts for 50% or more in terms of areal proportion.
|
