In a fuel cell system: a target stack supply flow rate is calculated on the basis of a fuel cell stack requirement, a compressor supply flow rate required by a stack is calculated on the basis of a stack supply flow rate and the target stack supply flow rate, and the larger of the compressor supply flow rate required by the stack and a lower limit flow rate determined in accordance with the operating state of the fuel cell system is set as a target compressor supply flow rate; a compressor is controlled in accordance with the target compressor supply flow rate; a bypass valve is controlled on the basis of the stack supply flow rate and the target stack supply flow rate; and if the stack supply flow rate falls within a prescribed bypass valve immobilization range, which is based on the target stack supply flow rate, and the stack supply flow rate becomes smaller than the target stack supply flow rate, the bypass valve is immobilized, and once the bypass valve has been immobilized, if the target compressor supply flow rate becomes larger than the lower limit flow rate, the immobilization of the bypass valve is cancelled. |
