[Problem] To provide a positive electrode for a non-aqueous electrolyte rechargeable battery having characteristics that do not easily deteriorate, such as the charge-discharge efficiency, capacity maintenance rate and discharge capacity maintenance rate of the non-aqueous electrolyte rechargeable battery, even when the non-aqueous electrolyte rechargeable battery is continuously charged in high temperatures. [Solution] A positive electrode (12) for a non-aqueous electrolyte rechargeable battery (1) is provided with a positive electrode active material layer (12b). The positive electrode active material layer (12b) contains a positive electrode active material, and a compound represented by general formula (1): MH2PO2 (1). In general formula (1), M is a monovalent cation.
