The invention relates to a method for monitoring a web speed of a material web moved by rollers (2, 3, 4), wherein a drive roller (2, 3, 4) is driven by means of a motor (5) and a present rotational speed of the motor (5) is detected. A current web speed is determined from the detected rotational speed and a diameter of the drive roller (2, 3, 4). The determined current web speed is compared with a specified target speed value and a specified threshold speed value of the web speed. |
