<p>An endoscope device is provided that sets an engagement range for a dial unit that carries out bending indication related to a bending section. The engagement range is specified according to the return force toward a neutral position, said return force being caused by the elastic force of a spring, and according to rotational resistance force that is caused by the sliding force from an elastic member. If the rotation angle is within the engagement range, the bending state of the bending section is maintained by maintaining the current rotation angle of the dial unit. If the rotation angle exceeds the engagement range, the rotation angle indicated by the dial unit is returned to a rotation angle that is within the engagement range, the target position is retained in the observation field within the engagement range, and observation continues.</p> |
