PURPOSE: A portable terminal and a control method thereof are provided to grasp a current location of the portable terminal even if the portable terminal is not able to receive a signal from a GPS(Global Positioning Service) satellite. CONSTITUTION: A wireless communication unit(110) receives a wireless signal from a plurality of external devices. A signal selection unit(182) selects one or more wireless signals based on the signal strength of the received wireless signal. A control unit(180) determines the location information of a main body by using the location information of an external device transmitting the selected wireless signal.
