The production method for elastic artificial leather of the present invention comprises: a step in which fibers that can be converted to superfine fibers are arranged in a web; a step in which the obtained web is tangled in order to produce an entangled nonwoven fabric; a step in which the fibers within the nonwoven fabric that can be converted to superfine fibers are converted to superfine fibers, and a substrate for artificial leather is produced; a step in which the obtained substrate for artificial leather is used to produce an artificial leather; and a step in which the obtained artificial leather is adhered to an elastic sheet that has been stretched 5-40% in the lengthwise direction, the stretched state of the elastic sheet is relaxed so that the elastic sheet contracts in the lengthwise direction and the artificial leather contracts in the lengthwise direction, the artificial leather is heat-treated while in a contracted stated, and the artificial leather is detached from the elastic sheet.
