SEPARATOR CONTAINING ORGANIC AND INORGANIC MIXTURE COATING LAYER AND BATTERY USING THE SEPARATOR

PURPOSE: A membrane is provided to have a strong adhesiveness and an excellent thermal shrinkage inhibition, to prevent a short circuit of an electrode due to overheat, to improve the stability of a battery and to be able to provide an electrochemical battery capable of a long term use. CONSTITUTION: A membrane is that an organic and inorganic mixture coating agent is coated on one side or both sides of a polyolefin base film. The coating agent includes a) polyvinylidene fluoride homopolymer with the weight average molecular weight of 1,000,000 g/mol or more; b) polyvinylidene fluoride-hexafluoropropylene copolymer with the weight average molecular weight of 800,000 g/mol or less; c) a solvent dissolving the polyvinylidene fluoride homopolymer; and d) inorganic particles. The residual amount of the solvent in the dried coating layer of the membrane is 100 ppm or less.
