PURPOSE: A multi-monitor output resolution detection device sets maximum and minimum resolution criteria by detecting the resolution of a monitor and operating frequency characteristics while connecting a cable at the same time through an I/O DDC channel. CONSTITUTION: A transition minimized differential signaling (TMDS) buffer (11) distributes a digital image and a voice signal and performs switching. A microprocessor (12) compares and analyzes extended display identification data (EDID). Multiple PC master controllers (16) read EDID information through a DDC channel from a monitor connected to multiple output ports. An I2C slave controller (13) transmits the EDID information to an input source. A GPIO controller (14,15) detects the connection of an I/O port.
