Disclosed are a method for controlling a wireless network connection and a hotspot device. The method comprises: a hotspot device establishing an auxiliary wireless connection with an access device; the hotspot device measuring the signal intensity of the auxiliary wireless connection; and when the signal intensity is greater than a preset intensity threshold, the hotspot device opening the wireless network connection. The hotspot device comprises an auxiliary wireless connection establishment unit which is used for establishing an auxiliary wireless connection with an access device; a signal intensity acquisition unit which is used for measuring the signal intensity of the auxiliary wireless connection; and a wireless network connection opening unit which is used for opening the wireless network connection when the signal intensity is greater than a preset intensity threshold. The auxiliary wireless connection is a connection established using a wireless connection technology the power consumption of which is lower than that of the wireless network connection. The technical solution provided in the embodiments of the present invention can achieve the purpose of replacing the manual opening of an established wireless network connection, and increase the intelligentization performance of a hotspot device. |
