The present invention relates to a method for producing acrylonitrile, the method comprising a gas-phase catalytic ammoxidation step for obtaining acrylonitrile by bringing a starting gas comprising propylene, molecular oxygen, and ammonia into contact with a fluid bed catalyst and performing gas-phase catalytic ammoxidation. The method is characterized in that the fluid bed catalyst comprises particles containing Fe, Sb, and Te, and that the gas-phase catalytic ammoxidation step is performed while maintaining the B/A within a range of 2.0 to 5.0, where A is the Te/Sb atomic ratio in the bulk composition of the fluid bed catalyst and B is the Te/Sb atomic ratio in the surface composition of the particles of the fluid bed catalyst. By means of this method for producing acrylonitrile, long-term retention of a stable high acrylonitrile yield is possible. |
