<p>[Problem] With respect to a cylinder in a two-cycle internal combustion engine, to prevent damage due to thermal stress in a cylinder equipped with multiple exhaust ports. [Solution] A two-cycle internal combustion engine equipped with multiple exhaust ports (10a) formed in a cylinder block (3), the temperature of a reinforcing wall (12) between the multiple exhaust ports rises due to the exhausting of combustion gas, and the reinforcing wall expands in the direction of the reciprocal motion of the pistons. In addition, the reinforcing wall contracts when the temperature in the vicinity of the exhaust ports drops. In this state, by providing a groove (21) in the cylinder block or the cylinder liner, a structure is formed whereby the expansion/contraction of the reinforcing wall, flexing in the direction of the reciprocal motion of the pistons, is not obstructed.</p> |
