PURPOSE: A high-carbon steel wire manufacturing method is provided to facilitate a wire-drawing process and to be utilized even when mandatory control in respect to the usage of lead is strengthened. CONSTITUTION: A high-carbon steel wire manufacturing method includes the following steps of: preparing a wire containing 0.8-1.02 wt% of C; manufacturing a primary drawn wire by primarily drawing the wire; heating and cooling the primary drawn wire at the temperature of two phase regions; secondarily drawing the heat treated primary drawn wire and lead-patterning heat treating the secondary drawn wire; and tertiary-drawing the heat treated secondary drawn wire.
