A 2D/3D conversion mode image display device is provided to use a cholesteric liquid crystal panel as a switching device capable of mutually converting a 2D image and a 3D image. A 2D/3D conversion mode image display device includes a display unit(D), a cholesteric liquid crystal panel(200), a retardation film(244), and a light source(L). The cholesteric liquid crystal panel is composed in a lower part of the display unit. The cholesteric liquid crystal panel is a switching device for mutually converting a 2D image and a 3D image displayed on the display unit. The retardation film is composed between the display unit and the cholesteric liquid crystal panel. The light source is composed in a lower part of the cholesteric liquid crystal panel. |
