The device has a commutation unit for commutating a load (4) e.g. resistive load and mixed load, of electricity consumption in parallel of a power supply (14) of an electrical apparatus (1). An actuation unit (18) actuates the commutation unit, and is connected to a synchronization unit (17) e.g. alternations threshold detector, where the synchronization unit controls the actuation unit. The synchronization unit is arranged such that the load is connected in parallel at the time when alternations pass by maximum of amplitude, and the load is not connected at the remaining time. The detector detects zero transition of alternations. An independent claim is also included for a method for generating increased electricity consumption for an electrical apparatus.
