PURPOSE: A heat storage medium and a heating method using the same are provided to use heat energy, which is stored in a medium during the daytime when solar energy is irradiated, until the night since latent heat is continuously generated for a long time by phase variation. CONSTITUTION: A heat storage medium contains water and agar. The heat storage medium contains 8-12 parts by weight of agar per 100 parts by weight of water. The heat storage medium has 1.3-1.5 times as much as the specific heat of water. The temperature of the upper side of the heat storage medium is 20-30°C.
