PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric motor in which a rotor ventilation flue in which dust is apt to accumulate is eliminated, and also suppress heat generation of a rotor and a bearing resulting from the elimination of the ventilation flue.SOLUTION: There is provided an electric motor including a frame 1, a stator arranged in the frame, a rotor arranged inside a stator core 11 of the stator across a gap, and fixed to a rotor shaft 6, a housing which is arranged at one end portion of the frame and bears a rotor shaft through a bearing, and a bearing bracket 2 which is arranged at the other end portion of the frame and bears the rotor shaft through a bearing. The electric motor further includes an air intake 1b provided on the one side of the frame 1, an air outlet 1a provided on the other side of the frame, and a ventilation flue 1c which is provided to an outer peripheral portion of the stator and ventilates cooling air taken in through the air intake 1b toward the air outlet 1a. The ventilation flue 1c is made larger in sectional area at an opening portion on the air outlet side than at an opening portion on an air intake side. |
