PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrification apparatus capable of suppressing deterioration of electrification performance due to faulty cleaning of an electrification member.SOLUTION: An electrification apparatus includes a cleaning member subject to compression processing in the thickness direction of a foam elastic layer 100B, in one end or both ends of a strip-like foam elastic member 100C to be a foam elastic layer 100B in a longitudinal direction. On the surface of a side opposite to the outer peripheral surface of a core body at least in one end or both ends of the foam elastic layer 100B in a longitudinal direction, a contact area ratio S per unit area of a region contacting with the outer peripheral surface of the core body 100A via an adhesion layer and peeling index W of the foam elastic layer 100B shown by a conditional expression (A1): W=&egr;×t×(1/R) satisfy the relation of a conditional expression (A2): W<1.42×S×α. In the conditional expressions (A1) and (A2), &egr; represents the Young's modulus (N/mm) of the foam elastic layer, t represents the thickness (mm) of the foam elastic layer, R represents the radius (mm) of the core body, and α represents the adhesion coefficient (unit: non-dimension) of the adhesion layer. |
