PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet conveying apparatus capable of detecting double feed with high accuracy, regardless of a temperature in a usage environment.SOLUTION: A sheet conveying apparatus 1 is provided for conveying a sheet along a conveying path P1. The apparatus includes: a first housing 9 and a second housing 8 facing to each other while sandwiching the conveying path P1; a transmitting part 101 arranged in the first housing 9 or in the second housing 8 and for transmitting an ultrasonic wave while aiming at the conveying path P1; a receiving part 102 arranged in the second housing 8 and for receiving an ultrasonic wave to output a detection signal for determining whether or not a sheet conveyed along the conveying path P1 is overlapped; a processing part 7 for performing processing to the sheet conveyed along the conveying path P1; and a power supply 3 arranged in the second housing and for supplying power to the processing part 7, transmitting part 101 and receiving part 102. |
