PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for assigning IP addresses to terminals in a wireless communication network in which direct wireless communications are performed between terminals without using an access point (AP).SOLUTION: There is provided a method for assigning an IP address in a wireless communication network comprising: a discovery step of causing a wireless terminal to search for an external terminal and connect with at least one external terminal which has been searched for; and a negotiation step of determining whether the wireless terminal is to be a group owner, which functions as an access point, or a group client, which functions as a station, in a peer-to-peer group, on the basis of negotiation with the external terminal. One of the discovery step and the negotiation step includes a step of causing the wireless terminal to transmit an IP address which is assigned to the group client to the external terminal. |
