PURPOSE: A protective device for an LED lamp is provided to cut off the current in case an additional general lamp which has the same bulb type with an LED lamp is mounted, thereby preventing damage to a driving circuit due to overheating. CONSTITUTION: A protective device for an LED lamp includes a short-circuit sensor (40) in which the lamp is mounted and which detects the over-current condition of a lamp socket for supplying the constant current outputted from a driving circuit to the lamp; and a cut-off switch (60) which cuts off the operation of the driving circuit according to the signal of the short sensor.
